Honour board competition winner - Martin James Veal

The Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club would like
to have an Honour Board in recognition of one of our former great sportsman
Martin James Veal
11 December 1968 - 1 June 2015
Martin was a remarkable sportsman,played 210 senior games with OIGFC ,
best and fairest winner, senior club captain for 2 years and played in 3 premiership teams.
He also served on the Club committee for 5 years
He was an exceptional sportsman, 6 year Premiership Cricket captain with local cricket team Banyule,
represented Australia in 2 grand finals in grid iron, played off a golf handicap of 2 and Winter Club Champion.
Also senior representative in Masters Baseball grand final.
OIGFC wishes to remember Martin
for his incredible sporting achievements and as a Senior Officer of the Victorian Police Force.
In June 2015 Martin lost his life in very unfortunate circumstances.
His Victorian Police funeral was attended by in excess of 1000 people including
a uniformed police guard of 250 officers plus the most senior officers of the Victorian Police force.
He will forever be recognised as a great sportsman, servant of the people and a father.
An Honour Board in his name would be a true recognition of this incredible man.
